HOW TO MAKE POTATO KURMA (BENGALI RECIPE)

This potato kurma is simply Bengali home-style recipe. Potato kurma is a tasty side dish for chapati.It is very easy to make.

Ingredients

1-     4 Potatoes

 2-     3 Tomatoes 

3-     1 onion 

4-      Ginger and Garlic paste
5-      2 tsp Coconut Powder 

6-       2 tsp Red chilly Powder
7-        Salt to taste 

8-       One Pinch of Turmeric
9-        ½ tsp Cumin seeds
10-       ½ tsp Mustard seeds 

11-       2 tsp Garam masala ( Blend 1 tsp Coriander Seeds, 4 Cloves, 1 Cinnamon, 2 Elaichi, Little Shaw Jeera and 4 Black Pepper into Powder)

Method::

• : Cook Potatoes adding 1/2 tsp Salt in pressure cooker till 4 whistles  Remove Potato Skin and cut them into pieces

•:  Heat oil in a pan and add mustard and cumin seeds. Once they start popping, add onions.

•: Keep frying onions until it turns golden brown and add ginger garlic paste to it.
•: Then, add tomatoes and peas to the mixture.

add cooked potatoes, salt, redchilli powder, coconut powder, turmeric, and little bit of water.
•: On a medium flame cook for for 10-15 minutes

•: Once cooked add 1 Cup Curd and 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder. Mix it and close the pan for 2-3 min

•:  Add 1 tsp Lemon juice and off the flame adding Coriander leaves
Potatoe Kurma is ready to serve, tastes good
